A good informative book

HUGE contains a lot of good information for those trying to bulk up. The food sections contained a lot good facts but I thought the exercise sections were lacking a bit. The authors could have broken the muscles down a little bit more to show the reader what exercises work what muscle and which go together better. The Arnold book I thought contained a lot more info and would be the better value.

Great book to read if you want huge gains, only problem is actually following the program. Otherwise I highly recommend this book!!

Better Than It Looks

This book has a split personality, which I find intriguing.
One the one hand, each spread contains 'roided out pro bodybuilders, which I find kind of gross. On the other hand, the program itself takes a very reasonable and moderate approach. You read things like "don't train more than four days a week" and "take a week off in between programs." The cutting diet is reasonable: cut processed food and don't get obsessed with counting calories. The cardio for cutting is tempered: don't work too intensely or too long. The routines are tried-and-true. Intensity techniques and (heaven help us) Weider Principles are discussed but are rarely implemented.
The core of this book--the workouts and diets--is excellent. I found the chapter on "The Perfect Rep" to be very helpful. If this book had no pictures I'd give it 5 stars.
