Worth Your Money if You're a Magician

This book is a must-have for any magician of the Western Tradition. My only complaint is that Gareth Knight uses it to promulgate his Christian convictions. However, this feature does not diminish the value of the work for those not so inclined toward this view. Finally! I have a book I my hands that explains Qabalistic Philosophy and the Tree of Life so well! Not only are the Sephiroth expounded; so are the Paths.

Mr Knight is very thorough in his discussion of the Quabala.
I believe his material would be a wonderful supplement to Gray's Qaballistic Concepts. The beginning student should read Gray first and then progress to Knight's methods..Mr Knight gives lengthy and learned insights to a reasonable and sane approach to the studies..I highly recommend his book. Both authors were connected to Dion Fortune, whose group is still active today..We need more men like these to point the way to the new generation of seekers.

Invaluable guide...

The other reviews are well stated. I just wanted to add my own angle, and this is from experience. I have owned this book for many years. In the past, I tried to read it and would always give it up early on. It seemed so dry and rather boring. However, my opinion changed 180 degrees...after I had been practicing daily meditation, with routine discipline. Personally, and this was simply my own experience, the commentaries "came alive" only after I had sufficiently begun my own inner exploration and connecting with God deep within my own self...not just on the "outside". The book...again, in conjunction with an active and devoted regimen of contemplative meditation...will light up new possibilities and new associations, through the deeper meaning of any symbol you might encounter or allegory you wish to decipher the deeper meaning from. For this reason, I give the book 5 stars...as a meditative companion to experience ever deeper levels of Truth, within yourself and within the Universe, both seen and unseen.
