Dr. George E. MacKinnon III, is presently the Vice President of Academic Affairs of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in Alexandria, VA. Prior to joining AACP he was Director of Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research at the headquarters of Abbott Laboratories. Dr. MacKinnon taught one of the first required courses in health economics and outcomes assessment in an academic pharmacy program in the 1990 s. He also assisted in the development of numerous pharmacist-medical practice initiatives as well as several post-graduate residency training programs in various practice settings over the years. He served as the Founding Editor of InetCE SM, an Internet-based continuing education publication from 1996-2006, has authored over 60 publications and has written three book chapters in texts related to medication use.

Best book for research

This book is amazing. The stats part should be a book on it's own. If you got "stats problems", this is pretty amazing stuff. better than actual states books. It is not an easy read, you have to think, but this is one I will keep and not resell because I will be using it!

I enjoy epidemiology, and this book is a very good text for nursing students. I learned a lot of information that I had never known during this course and while reading this book.

My background is in epidemiology but i am working in a job where a lot of my work crosses over into the realm of pharmacoeconomics. I bought this book to brush up on some of the topics that are unique to that field. This was a good overview of what's "out there" but certainly would not prepare you for any applied use of these topics. That is not a bad thing, just understand what you're getting: a good intro to the basic topics of pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research.

Hetty Green and the Financial Dilemma

This book profiles the life of Hetty Green, who in the year 1900 was worth $100,000,000. Rumours abound about her idiosyncracies, the most prevalent of which is frugality. Say what you will about Hetty, she was a market genius. She spotted an opportunity before anyone noticed anything was missing. She had foresight, an iron will, and incredible fortitude. Much of this can be attributed to her father and grandfather, who themselves had amassed wealth and shared their secrets with Hetty from the time she was a young girl. Hetty's children, on the other hand, are an odd lott, from Ned Green, who hung a whale's penis on his wall for the sheer amusement factor in that most people did not know what it was, to her daughter Sylvia who was more of a recluse. When Sylvia died, she donated tens of thousands of dollars to those whom she remembered were kind to her. I read it for geneological research, as Hetty and I may be related. However, if a story of building and maintaining wealth through innovation and cunning interests you, you will enjoy this book. I understand, however, that some of the facts may have been embellished. There are other sources of info about Hetty available if you want facts. Enjoy!

Good book, eh sex

Great Story....Delicious, Funny and Heartfelt

I received an ARC....I loved the continuation of Queen Tanya, King Brant and Zane. The story opened with the some Lores rules on rutting other females while the Queen is in her last stage of pregnancy...OMG! I agree with Tanya 800%...absolutely NOT.! Even though it got pretty out of hand, it didn't matter what the lores said anyway because Brant & Zane didn't want to do it; which says a lot. There was a few twists in the story which I thought was really, really good; and looking forward to that carrying over to the next installment. I like how the author had both Brant and Zane discuss how they felt about it, even though Tanya did say somethings that were pretty bad and men do have feels. Esp, when they love someone and want to make the relationship work. Even though Brant and Zane are constantly chippy towards one another, they seem to be bonding slowly but surely. Brant is still a bit surly but he's coming around; they even had a heartfelt moment in the story! I'm Zane's biggest fan...totally love his character...when he said "Fuc@!* that! That I would xx. and leave you with Tanya?..Totally GREAT LINE.!! I was cracking up laughing! You gotta love Zane, he's great! Even though I didn't get my twins with Tanya, I was so pleased with the baby. I was thrilled that Becky was assigned to help with the birth. Even though she's not OB-GYN, she's still very good....with her two mates, Rushe & Ross..yum, yum!! They seem very protective of her..!! I was also so pleased to see they brought in Steph & Ward and Xavier and Esral. Xavier can't seem to pull himself away from Esral...LOL! I would have loved more dialog between the women and have the men chat a bit more, esp with the breading program. Tanya finally got her vampire sandwich....WHOA! Knockout scene. I was like wow! Overall the story was great and I'm looking forward to the next installment "Breading Program"...I know that's going to be a doozy...LOVE IT..! Thanks Charlene!

Great balls of fire! Charlene Hartnady has continued the magical journey of Queen Tanya and Kings Zane and Brant with Mated to the Vampire Kings and what a glorious treat it is! I love it! Although this is a standalone novella with no cliffhanger, I would highly recommend reading Charlene's Chosen by the Vampire Kings Series prior to reading this book. I've been not so patiently waiting for this release since I learned Queen Tanya was pregnant at the end of Chosen by the Vampire Kings and it was well worth the wait! Charlene has totally knocked it out of the park - again! Yes, Charlene has amazing talent. Yes, she has an astounding imagination. And yes she has incredible skill but it's her unique ability to draw her readers into the story and make the fantasy come to life and become so real as we become immersed in the worlds and the characters she creates for us. And the characters are always my favorite element of her stories. They seem to capture not only our imagination but our hearts as well. The dialogue is smart, exceptionally well written, well edited and flows effortlessly. The story is smart, exciting, fast paced, original, imaginative, suspenseful, captivating, gripping, riveting, thrilling, hilarious, romantic, arousing and oh so sweet!! And did I say hot? Oh yeah! The characters are fascinating, intriguing, engaging, endearing, sexy as sin and at times, laugh out loud funny. These are only a few of the words that come to mind when I try to describe this story. This book has it all! Ms. Hartnady has once again demonstrated her exceptional writing ability and talent by delivering a masterpiece of paranormal fiction filled to the brim with thrills, chills, danger, action, adventure, suspense, humor and romance. Such a delight! So, are you ready my lovelies for another wild ride??? Well, buckle up! Here we go again!
It's been almost a year since the Kings somehow managed to survive the mating ceremony and we're once again back at the castle just outside Sweetwater where both covens have now combined. The Kings have been busy trying to organize and implement their new "breeding program". Breeding program??? Yep, I said breeding program! The Kings, Zane and Brant, have learned through Stephany's new wolf alpha mate Ward, that humans are, in fact, strong enough to survive a mating with shifters and vampires other than the kings. The Kings have finally embraced this new idea and have been hard at work drawing up the contracts with the humans and finalizing the arrangements. That is, when they're not fretting over their very pregnant mate, Queen Tanya! And they are seriously testing her patience with their jealousy, antics and all their rules! Rules?!? Oh my! It's a war of wills between the threesome especially after Tanya begins to experience complications with her pregnancy. It doesn't take long for the news to spread throughout the castle and all the unmated female vampires have decided to perform their duty and serve their Queen by servicing her mates! Huh? Yep, ancient vampire lore allows the Kings to rut with other females when the Queen is unable to perform her duties. What the heck? Never going to happen! Not as long as there's a breath left in Tanya's body! But someone forgot to send the memo to all the female vamps because they've all just showed up! Needless to say, Queen Tanya is more than a little upset! It seems trouble is brewing both inside and outside the castle. Not everyone is happy about the new breeding program and all hell is about to break loose - inside and outside the castle! But just which of the Kings is the father of Baby Sam? Hmmm....I wonder??? Does it even matter??? I think not! Let the hijinks begin! No spoilers from me but I will say this...Two always feuding, sexy, alpha vampire kings, totally different yet both desirable and each loving their human queen more than life itself-check! Beautiful, sassy and very pregnant Queen Tanya who loves both her Kings to distraction-check! A large and wonderful cast of characters-check! An ancient vampire lore-check! A new human breeding program-check! Action, danger, thrills, chills, suspense, a returning old enemy who I lovingly refer to as "the bloodhag" and an unexpected new enemy as well-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and a boat load of laugh out loud humor-you bet! That and a whole lot more! And yes, all of our favorite and much loved characters make an appearance in this book! Deliciously cute, fabulously funny, seriously sexy, completely captivating and divinely entertaining!!!

What happened?

Sorry, I just don't know what happened with this book. Seriously. Lietha is broadening her literary chops I understand. Yet I felt betrayed. This book is just..awful. I hate to say that too cause I have ALL her books. I felt cheated. I waited so long since her last release and get this and then...blah.

Light weight western romance with a little supernatural flavor - I liked the characters and the story. It was reminiscent of the old Hollywood westerns. High Noon comes to mind. The story could have been fleshed out more though. I would have wished for a longer novel. The romance was fairly clean and not highly erotic.

Paul Downs Colaizzo has had his work has produced at MCC, Signature Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Experimental Theatre Wing, and International Theatre Workshop, Amsterdam. Really Really marked Colaizzo’s New York playwriting debut and is the first play in his “Want, Give, Get” trilogy. His other plays include Little Gives, The Thing About Getting, Pride in the Falls of Autrey Mill, and For Tomorrow, Please Prepare. He holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and lives in New York City.

A thin line

Really, Really revolves around a group of college students who are nearing graduation. As what comes after college starts playing on their minds, they start looking for ways to secure their post-college futures. When the fall out of a party places some of those plans into jeopardy, each friend's or acquaintance's true self begins to shine through causing some to question their beliefs and others to question whether they can stand by their beliefs. Really, Really's conclusion may or may not be what you would hope but it does really, really reflect a reality that is all too likely.

Plays should be transformative; they should leave an impression, perhaps cause a little discomfort, and force you to confront your assumptions and beliefs. Really, Really was mostly successful in this purpose. The script read well and helped capture a mood that was appropriate for the purpose, and as the dialogue and action unfolded, I was left on that very thin line between disgust and sadness. While I would stop short of calling it transformative, Really, Really will definitely leave you with a lot to ponder.

The Moscow Mathematical Olympiad has been challenging high-school students with stimulating, original problems of different degrees of difficulty for over 75 years. In 2006 the Moscow Center for Continuous Mathematical Education began publishing a collection of problems from the Moscow Mathematical Olympiads, providing for each an answer (and sometimes a hint) as well as one or more detailed solutions. This volume represents the years 1993-1999. The problems and the accompanying material are well suited for math circles. They are also appropriate for problem-solving classes and practice for regional and national mathematics competitions. Titles in this series are co-published with the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI).

Great Beginning Preparation for IMO

Preparing for olympiad mathematics requires books with problems far exceeding the difficulty of those used in high school classrooms. This is a great collection of problems that show the different focus and culture of mathematics education in Russia is to those of the U.S. and its olympiads. This is great material to compare from a math education research standpoint, and the book provides a firm foundation for the easier problems one would see in the IMO and for actually studying old IMO problems.
Using this for USAMO may not be the best preparation, but due to a lack of USAMO problems in print form, few alternatives exist.

Also look for the 2000-2005 problems published by the same publisher!
